Fundamental Accounting
Fundamental Accounting is an required course to every student in college of commerce, and also, everyone's nightmare. In the beginning of this semester, professor had informed us that it would be a difficult subject. However, I wasn't aware of it then. I can deeply realize why she said so now.
This is a subject that I strongly recommend you to keep awake during the class. I often sleep in classes due to staying up late. In other class, dozing off in the class is not a big deal. However, I always wake up in the class in a very embarrassing situation that I can hardly know what teacher is talking about. Often, I couldn't understand it until I spend time studying it, and tragedy always happens.
Without teacher, I really need someone to ask questions to, since it's hard for me to study on my own. It is really complicated as well as detailed. The final exam is on next Friday, hope I can do better than my tragic mid-term exam.

Technology and Human Society
I added this course after the semester began, so I didn't know what this class is doing. I shouldn't have selected this course which was still with capacity. I selected courses carefully in order not to take an awful class. However, taking this class was the biggest mistake that I've made since my college life. We have to take these 3-credit core courses in order to graduate. There wasn't too much time for me to find out if this class is good or bad. Therefore, I go to College of Commerce every Wednesday night.
To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to the class at first. However, I tried to do hard on it once, but in vain. What the things in our textbook is really a mess to me. I really don't know if it is my own problem, because one of my classmates taking the same class encounters the same predicament. We can hardly realize what the textbook and the professor is talking about. It is filled with abstract concepts and a lot of assumptions, and always discussing with some questions with no answer or I think that professor himself doesn't know.
What's more, we have to finish three 1000 words assignments, three group presentations, and a final presentation along with a 5000 words report in a semester. It is totally ruining my leisure time! Like now, early in the morning, I am still fighting with these assignments just because it took me so long to do the final report. In addition, I am bad at presentation. It is really a nightmare when it was my turn to do the presentation.
Due to this experience, I will select my courses more carefully next time in order to have a wonderful semester!

Freshman Orientation
This class is definitely a nightmare for us freshman! Everyone is forced to take the class unless you don't want to graduate. To pass the class and get the credit, we have to join a camp filled with boring speech before the semester. In addition, we have to take four classes on either 7 a.m. or 7 p.m., when nobody wants to have a class. Since I don't know if I will have some activities to participate at night, I take the morning class, and therefore, I skipped the class last time because of oversleeping.
Since I didn't attend the class last time, I had to appear in class this time or I would fail the course. Getting up so early is really a hard task for me since I often go to bed after 2 a.m. However, to pass the class, I got up and attended on time this time. This time, we got breakfast to eat. It is said that we will have pizza or fried chicken. I anticipated a free big meal. To my disappointment, we had only sandwiches which had already become cold. The class is also boring this time. Our TA invited a retired school staff to have a sharing. I think she didn't even prepare for it, because she was always saying something doesn't matter to our life. It is totally her memory in NCCU.
After this class, we will have our last class next time. There are assignments to finish and four meaningless activities to participate. In my opinion, this course is totally a failure. Yet, we all still have to attend it for our credit. Hope I can get up on time next time and successfully pass it.

Introduction to Technology of National Defense
I was born in 1993. That means I have to serve as a soldier in the future. To reduce the term during the military service, I take these military training courses. Though I am taking this course for purpose, the class is actually not as boring as general people think. The military instructor is really nice, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed.
Before the class, I have another PE class till 9, and the class starts at 10. Since my roommate also takes this class, we go down the hill to attend the class together. Actually, the time is almost just enough for me to take a little break because the class is held at the bottom of the hill. However, every time I finish my PE class I go back to my bed to sleep. I won't get up until we are definitely late for the class. We always leave our dorm after 10:10 a.m., and arrive at the class before 10:30, because the military instructor makes the roll call at 30. We have never been late on record.
It is said that taking the military courses always get good scores. I don't know if it is true because I won't know my grade till the end of the semester. But I think it is really easy to get good grade, since there is no any exam. All we have to do is to attend the class "on time" and do a teamwork presentation at the end of the semester.

Somatic Fitness
Since I am taking only 17 credits this semester, I took this P.E. class and another military training class that don't count as graduate credits. To graduate, we have to get 4 P.E. course credits, though they don't count as graduate credit.
I chose Somatic Fitness because the class is given on the hill at B1 of the Tzu Chiang 7,8 dorm. I can get there quickly, and it doesn't sound difficult. However, I forgot to consider a significant portion, the time. The class requires us to attend at 7 a.m. It is totally a nightmare! Since I often go to bed around 3 or 4 a.m., I still have to get up at about 6:50.
Yesterday, eventually, I jumped off the bed on hearing my "roommate's" alarm clock, because I had turned off mine and I couldn't even remember. It was about 7:20. After considering if I should go for the class, I rushed to bathroom to brush my teeth and changed my clothes as fast as I can. Fortunately, teacher was late this time, and I was even a little earlier than her. What an excited and happy experience!

Introduction to Computer Science
For an MIS student, courses about computer shouldn't be a big deal. However, I think except some very few people who had learned before, the whole class are suffering severely in the class. I spend almost the whole week to do the assignment every week, and always finish it just before the deadline. It is really a big deal to me.
Last week, our teacher, professor Liu, announced that we would have a test the next week. It completely freaked us out! The assignments alone are too much for us, not to mention a test. What's more, during the following days, professor keep giving out the questions of the test in the club on FB, and I could hardly answer any one of them. At the last moment, we turned to our classmate who knew the answer, and I put all my effort to memorize the answer, passing the test finally.
Now is just only a month after the beginning of the semester. I can't even image the following days in the class. Yet, maybe this is actually how college class should be.

ETP Oral and Writing Training
Before the semester began, I saw ETP on the Internet, and I
thought it is cool, though my English is pretty poor. In order to improve my
poor English, I take part in this program. Everyone participating in the ETP
course is supposed to take the Oral and Writing Training class.
In the class, we discuss things in English completely, and our teacher, William, also teaches the class in English entirely. Though it sounds difficult, I am still happy in the class with my poor English.
However, last week, William gave each group an assignment to find an international event or trend and do some research on it. It didn't sound too hard to finish, but our group didn't do any discussion till the day before the class, and I almost even forgot it. It was my team member, who is also my classmate in MIS, that reminded me of the assignment, though he didn't do anything as well.
Since I didn't want to be embarrassed in front of the class, I googled a news about a shipwreck took place on Monday just before the class in case there is really no one do something. And it really came in handy...... So we really use the simple news to have a brief presentation. I can't image what will happen and how embarrassed we will be if I didn't google somthing just before the class.
After listening to others' presentation, I really think we didn't do well enough. I think after this time, our team members won't be so neglected next time, and will be well-prepared for next time!
